A Fundraising Event as part of a Charity Fun Day

After a successful it’s a knockout with Gable Events, Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice booked Gable Events to run a charity school sports day as a fundraising event and spectacle at their annual fete in Selly Park, Birmingham. In order to raise funds for the hospice, eight teams were recruited from local companies and organisations in Birmingham to take part. The companies paid the entry fees and individuals within each team were encouraged to raise additional sponsorship money for the hospice. Gable Events provided six members of staff to ensure that the charity sports day ran without a hitch.

The event manager, dressed in mortar board and cape, was headteacher and compere for the day, encouraging friendly banter between the teams and sending anyone that misbehaved to write lines at the naughty desk! The additional staff refereed and supervised the twelve fully themed games which included traditional favourites like skipping, egg and spoon race, ball and bucket, bean bag balance, sack race and tug of war. Together, our staff ensured that everyone had a fun, safe and enjoyable charity school sports day.

A Big Success!

All the feedback received from the hospice and the teams was excellent and the event was such a fundraising success that Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice booked Gable Events for a further It’s a Knockout later in the year!
